Putting your body into certain "hook-up" positions activates self-healing instantly...
Dr. John Thie, D.C., the founder & developer of Touch for Health had this to say about Rudy:
"Rudy is a terrific teacher and healer. I urge you to learn energy-balancing techniques from him."
I was extra-ordinarily lucky to spend over 100 hours under his direct, personal supervision learning Touch for Health and how to really show up and be there for clients. He, and his lovely wife Carrie, had a deep impact on my life and profession. I had the privilege to see them lead a healing service one night in a Malibu, California church healing the entire congregation in the style of Jesus--using one person as a surrogate for everyone there...and I really began to understand that what he had developed should not be limited to the chiropractic office. I became a practitioner of his system and then a teacher and went on to teach it for many years. It's a great system to learn if you have an interest. What I'm going to teach you here is one of Dr. Thie's favorite tools from the Touch for Health system he developed. It's called Emotional Stress Release but his own description of it is far more interesting. He taught me this as "a simple & powerful way to pray with someone". I think you'll agree once you learn and begin using it.
Here we go: Imagine two dollar-sized dots on your forehead halfway between your eyes and your hairline. These are called neurolymphatic points and this pair is particularly good for help releasing emotional stress. Gently rest the fingerpads of each hand on these points; you're touching the skin of your forehead above each eye--roughly halfway up your forehead. Keep the touch very gentle. Use about as much pressure as you would touching the closed eyelids of a baby. Now wait.
As you wait think about a specific stress in your life. What color would it be if it was a color? Would it make a sound? What kind? Would that stress have a shape? Or even a scent or smell? How does the stress feel in your body? Just consider these questions without trying to fix or change anything. After 20 seconds to 3 minutes take your fingerpads away and notice that stress again. You'll notice a definite, predictable and quite amazing drop in the negative charge you feel. If you pre and post-rate the stress on a 0 to 10 scale you'll really see the power this simple process has.
It is an amazing technique based on how your brain blocks bloodflow under stress. Holding these gentle points in this way unblocks it...but that's NOT the best part...
Dr. Thie was always a big fan of NOT trying to do everything yourself. He taught me how to ask, reach out and teach in a way that benefits everyone. Here's how Dr. Thie did the same technique: He asked someone to help him get over a stressor by teaching them how they could hold the points on HIS head and ask him the questions above about shape, color, scent, etc. The person did that and helped him drop his stress level. He thanked them for their GREAT assistance...and then offered to return the favor by holding THEIR forehead and helping them with THEIR stressor. Both benefited. Dr. This was a master teacher and demonstrator. I miss him now that he is gone and I value my learning with him all the time.
So how can YOU benefit? Simple. Ask your cranky partner, friend or colleague to help you and teach them how to do this technique. Then offer to return the favor and you can help them. Avoid the trap many of us "healer-types" fall into (present company included!) of just offering to help others, help others and help others some more. That's imbalanced and will catch up to you sooner or later (learned from hard experience!). Give and receive. Enjoy!
P.S. there are folks who dismiss ESR as too easy, simple or un-fancy. It is one of the single BEST rescues I know for ANY type of stress including trauma. It is also safely & easily added to ANY self-help or self-healing program. The way I used to urge folks in classes to use it is by nudging them in this way: "Doing ESR is way better than complaining about your problem. If you'll do ESR every time you have the urge to complain, you'll soon find you won't have much to complain about!"
